Petrols of our fathers...

I had a few thoughts before posting this ad, but what the heck... It's (sadly) true anyway! A magazine ad for the Media 24 Newspaper in South Africa. First of all I liked the art direction... looks exactly as the one made for Clint Eastwood's movie "Flags of our fathers" that brought some light to Iwo Jima's flag rising story, which also seemed to turn out to be a fiasco. I believe the fact here is easy to tell... the USA fighting not for it's flag, but for the petrol. It's always difficult to put up these kind of posts and my intention is not to touch any patriotic feelings some fellow Americans might have... but after all it's advertising and i must show all ideas coming from around the planet (good or bad). I had a hard time translating the copy (It's Afrikaans) and it reads: "Speaking together".
